AGARTALA, Jan 23 (TIWN): On a successful note, Bishalgarh Women Police rescued a minor along with her boyfriend from outside the state. According to the details of the incident, the 16-year-old daughter of Joydul Hossain of Charilam Aralia area eloped from home on January 17 with her alleged boyfriend.
Six days after the incident, Bishalgarh Women police rescued the girl and her boyfriend from Chennai and handed them over to their families. The boy is identified as Rafiq Mia, son of Ali Ashraf, resident of Kaiyadhepa area under Madhupur police station.
OC Shiuli Das said a complaint of abduction was lodged by the family of the minor on January 17. Police are investigating the allegations. By tracking the mobile phone of the minor along with Rafiq, the police came to know that both of them were in Chennai. Police later spoke to them on the phone and succefully rescued them and brought them to Bishalgarh Women's Police Station. The police spoke to the minor and found out that she had not been abducted, she had voluntarily run away from home with her lover.
Later, the incident was settled at Bishalgarh Women's Police Station by both the parties, in presence of police. Both were then handed over to their families.
