AGARTALA, Jan 21 (TIWN): “Night Curfew” rules remain applicable for the common men only who are subjected to pay hefty fines for violations of the curfew or breaking any Covid guidelines. But amid the Curfew, who would guarantee the property of people is secure? Everyday theft cases are rising and today Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor’s office was looted along with other shops and a Kali temple in the Shankar Chowmuhani, Durga Chowmuhani area. Though CM Biplab Deb continues to claim that law and order are under control, the reality is resulting in everyday theft incidents.
On Friday, AMC mayor Dipak Majudmer’s own office located at Shakar Chowumhani was looted by thieves. This incident has triggered tension in the area. Police started investigation in full-wave to find the culprits behind.
Robbery and theft cases have drastically increased in the state Tripura.
Taking advantage of the Night curfew the thieves are looting shops and houses but the police are unable to trace the thieves. Reportedly, a shop named Sri Durga Varieties situated at Durga Chowmuhani Bazar was looted last night. The thieves looted many items worth around Rs. 90,000.
