BELONIA, Jan 20 (TIWN): Acute drinking water crisis has turned lives miserable in rural Tripura. Under the so-called “Hira” regime, such crisis however nothing new forcing the common men to go in protest. Local people have blocked roads in demand of drinking water, proper water supply system asking the State Govt to immediately solve their problems. In hilly areas, usually there are crisis of water and then Govt has failed to supply regular water amid its much-hyped "Atal Jal Dhara Mission". The protest was held in Manirampur Bhaskar Para of Ratanpur ADC Village of Rishyamukh Block. Getting the information, the local authority rushed to the spot but the villagers declines to withdraw the protest unless their demands are fulfilled.
Due to the hour-long blacked, vehicles remained stranded for hours on both sides of the road.
Talking to the agitators, they informed that they had earlier complained many times to the local authority but nobody bothered to listen to them led them to go in protest.
Although protests against water crisis problems erupt every day but the BJP led State Govt continues to claim that it has diminished water crisis problems in this state.
