AGARTALA / PUDUCHERRY, Jan 16 (TIWN): A Tripura girl along with six more from other states have been rescued by Police in Puducherry who were forced to prostitution illegal business.
Reportedly, the police held the raid after being reported about prostitution was going on in a spa on the Anna Salai.
Out of the six women three from Puducherry, two from Tamil Nadu and one from Tripura have said that the spa proprietor had forced them into flesh trade.
Police booked the proprietor under sections 3 (punishment for keeping a brothel or allowing premises to be used as a brothel) (2) (a) (person in charge of any premises, uses, or allows any other person to use, such premises as a brothel) , 4 (punishment for living on the earnings of prostitution) (2) (c) (acting as a pimp on behalf of a prostitute), 5 (procuring, including or taking person for the sake of prostitution) (1) (a) (procures a person with or without consent for the purpose of prostitution) and (d) (induces a person to carry on prostitution) and 7 (prostitution in or in the vicinity of public places) of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956.
