AGARTALA, Jan 14 (TIWN): Reportedly, a group of thieves have been stealing electrical wire from the area adjacent to Dashmi Riang Para in Shantir Bazar sub-division for the past few days. A contractor filed a written case with Shantir Bazar PS regarding the theft incident. The police while on search to catch the thieves suspectedly arrest a freight car register number- TR03F1920 while it was moving at night and recovered stolen electrical wire.

Two persons Dulal Chowdhury, resident of Jamjuri and Ranjit Debnath resident of Udaipur were arrested. It is said that the stolen material was found from Ranjit Debnath.

Shantir Bazar PS OC said, 60 % stolen items had been recovered approx.,Rs 4 lakh 40 thousand items have been stolen and out of which about Rs 2 lakh 45 thousand items have been recovered. The OC said such raids by the police of Shantir Bazar police station would be continued.
