AGARTALA, Jan 14 (TIWN): On Thursday 2 ICFAI Janajati students named Angel Reang and Abhijit Debbarma while crossing the Circuit House area, their vehicle got off suddenly due to disturbance in their vehicle, for which CM’s convoy was stopped for a few secs. Centering this issue, Traffic Police Kishore Banik along with the other 2 Traffic Police assaulted the 2 youths brutally, later handed them over to NCC Police. Condemning the role of Traffic Police 4 leftist student organizations SFI, TSU, DYFI, TYF organized a press meet.
TSU General Secretary Netaji Debbarma demanded the traffic Police who harassed the 2 College students without proper reason must be suspended immediately and to take legal steps against them accordingly. If stern action is not taken against the Traffic Police official then the Student organizations will go for a massive protest.
DYFI state Secretary Nabarun Deb condemning the Traffic Police role against the 2 innocent college students raised voice and asked what step the Home minister taken against the murder of Kalamchoura PS 2nd OC by Narcotic drugs vehicle? He also raised the question of what action the Home Minister took against the Mohanpur rape incident, the girl who was burnt alive after rape on March 12, 2020.
“Several rapes, murders incident, attack on leftist workers, attack on media houses has happened under BJP era but no arrest was done, oppositely the Tripura Police instead of detaining the accused harassing students to please the CM which is unacceptable”, said Deb.
The Youth leader further requested Police officials not to play a double role.
