Agartala, Dec 31 (TIWN): LF Govt having a tough time in the year 2014. Endless scams, embezzlements and irregularities unearthed in this year. However, the inefficient opposition mysteriously failed to stage any movement throughout the state. But Manikbabu hardly found space to heave a sigh of relief. Another serious irregularity unearthed by CAG I their audit report for Government of Tripura for 212-2013 fiscal.
In “Chapter-V: General Sector” at Paragraph 5.3.7.1(ii) CAG stated that, “According to Rule 56 of the GFR, 2005, rush of expenditure in the closing month of the financial year should be avoided. Audit observed that during 2008-2009 to 2012-2013, selected DDOs spent 28 per cent to 89 per cent of the total non-salary expenditure in the month of March every year.”
According to that report, PHQ expensed the highest percentage of 81.92 per cent in March 2012 in the period of 2008-2013. The highest expenditure percentage for SP (West) was 46.18 per cent in the March 2012. SP (Khowai) incurred its highest 37.50 per cent in March 2013. SP (Sepahijala) incurred 75.68 percentages in the March 2013, which was highest of this DDO in the period. CAG mentioned about 13 DDOs in their report with minute details and year wise break up. But, the authority remained reluctant still now about this irregularities. Many are of the view that, many close aides of the State cabinet would be involved in this irregularity, if probed properly.
