AGARTALA, Jan 11 (TIWN): Tripura State administration continues to impose Rs. 200 fines along with distribution of masks. However, for Tuesday, some relaxations were given and needy people, senior citizens mostly, were exempted from mask-related fines. Tripura has recorded 1 death and over 4% positivity rate in the last 24 hours. Talking to an official, he said, “Such drives are now regular operations due to the outbreak of the Corona virus and increasing numbers of cases in the state.
India logged 1,68,063 new coronavirus infections taking the total tally of Covid-19 cases to 3,58,75,790 which includes 4,461 cases of the Omicron variant, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Tuesday.
The active cases rose to 8,21,446, the highest in 208 days, while the death toll climbed to 4,84,213 with 277 fresh fatalities, the data updated at 8 am stated.
