AGARTALA, December 30 (TIWN): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Amit Shah will visit the state on January 19.Taking to TIWN President of Bharatiya Janata Party Tripura Unit Sudhindra Dasgupta said that President Amit Shah would visit the state to take stock of the current organizational strength of the party. The Tripura unit of the BJP is eagerly waiting for party national president Amit Shah's state visit on January 19.

Expressing hope, a vast number of workers and supporters from Pradesh Congress, CPI­M and TMC are likely to join Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on his visit in January, he said.

According to Sudhindra Dasgupta, Mr. Shah will be here to review the progress of the ongoing membership drive under which the party State unit has been given a target of enrolling 4 lakh members. Mr. Shah has reportedly asked the party State unit to expand base at the grassroots-level by enrolling a minimum of 100 members from different communities and cross-sections of society in each of the polling booths.

Meanwhile, party workers are also spreading awareness about its ideology and the goals set by its top brass to take it closer to people. Party leaders are visiting every districts to get the public’s feedback on BJP’s success and what it holds for the country’s future.

Incidentally, opinion is being built against certain national issues which are considered to be affecting law and order and damaging the social fabric. Due emphasis is laid on protecting the national culture and traditions, party sources said.

The aim of the party is to grow stronger in Tripura for the next elections having staged a tremendous comeback in 2014 elections at the national level.
