AGARTALA, Jan 2 (TIWN): Amid massive job scam, BJP Party workers’ confession about recruitment bribery, and state-wide protests, Tripura CM Biplab Deb has claimed on Monday, “Tripura is witnessing how transparent recruitment policy can be. The transparent policy was introduced by the BJP Govt only. Today people of Tripura can decide their own fates. Our recently held Municipal Poll victory has been gifted by the people of Tripura to PM Modi”. CM Deb further has requested the people to join in PM Modi’s rally on 4th January, which will be Modi’s first rally after Tripura 2018 Election victory”.

Though Biplab Deb claimed a transparent recruitment policy, a lathi-charge was imposed on unemployed youths on December 30, while they were protesting against an alleged job recruitment scam in the recently declared job crackers list. Various kinds of allegations came related to the alleged scam like getting jobs without appearing in the physical tests, getting jobs by scoring merely 26 in total, violating SC, ST, UT categories. In protest, the disheartened unemployed youths blocked the road at the VIP zone. They staged protests for hours. Later police imposed a lathi-charge to disperse the crowd. Many of the agitating youths were arrested.

The protest started yesterday after on 29th December, midnight the passed out candidates’ names were announced.

The unemployed youths also to move to the High Court as they said they had sufficient evidence in this scam.

The youths said, it was promised by Chief Minister Biplab Deb that 2,200 jobs would be given but it was not done and around 1400 jobs were given. The candidates demanded proper clarification of the matter and CM’s statement on that. From the Gorkha Basti area, the candidates then went towards the High Court and staged a protest there.

Reportedly, many of the candidates were directly promised by BJP top leaders to give them jobs but being in the party they were fooled.
