Agartala, Dec 29 (TIWN): To mark the 45th Foundation Day, Students’ Federation of India (SFI) today staged a hall meeting at Daily Desherkatha Bhavan in Agartala. Former state president of SFI and Member of Parliament (MP)- Sankar Prasad Datta inaugurated the hall meeting while many of the SFI leaders remained present.
In his inaugural address, the key speaker Sankar Prasad Datta explained the historical role of Students’ Federation of India. He urged the SFI members to keep continue their protest against various issues of the state and to carry out their roles for the welfare of the student society.
Speaking in the meeting, SFI state secretary Nabarun Dey asserted that SFI had started journey with 126 members but at present the number stood at 46 lakh. To increase more membership in SFI, Dey appealed all the members to keep their relentless efforts in Tripura.
The SFI leaders and over 200 members attended the hall meeting held today. As part of different progremmes to mark Foundation Day, SFI has been staging a variety of drives across the state since December 21. On Foundation Day, different programmes including sit and draw competition, street corners and seminars would be conducted all over the state by SFI on tomorrow.
