AGARTALA, December 28 (TIWN): Adding another feather to the pains and sufferings of the people of the state, the bad shape of most of the tourists spots here keeps away the tourists from visiting the spots. The old aged tourist spots without any further maintenance failed to entertain the people of the state this year. While, the maintenance work of another tourist place Neer Mahal is under process, which will take another longer period of time to attract tourists with its new shape.

Most of the tourist spots which are rapidly losing its glory due to the apathy and negligence of government towards its maintenance and preservation. 5 Km away from Udaipur and some 45 Km away from Agartala, Tepania eco park situated in Tepania Gram Panchayat under Radhakishorepur PS is popularly known for its charming ambience of natural beauty. But today the Eco Park has deprived the visitors with its bad condition inside, where the hanging bridge was seen broken and the tree forts remained in a bad condition. Most of the visitors at the park expressed their displeasure over the bad condition of the park and urged the state govt. to take a proper care of it.

Beside the beautiful rock cut carvings and stone images at Chobimura at Amarpur has lost its glory with the trees and jungles all around covered the sculptures on the body of the rock.  Chobimura, is a Place where a water area with green hills and pictures of gods in the hills. But today this has lost its fervor and beauties. No boats can be found available for the transportation of the visitors through a water way. And a section of tribal people at the area are earning their daily livelihood carrying visitors through their own hand made boat, and feeding them with handmade dishes. Chobimura lacks the basic infrastructures with a proper sanitation inside and rest house for the visitors.

Moving towards the Unakoti district one can find another rock cut sculptures of various gods in the body of its hill. And the place is popularly known for its history that it highlights through the sculptures and the rock cut carvings. One has to climb down through a stair case to have a look of those sculptures. But now due to the negligence role of the authorities this has become risky for the visitors as the stair cases turned very slippery.

And another popularly known for its orange cultivation the Jampui Hill of North Tripura has also lost its glory and the flavor of oranges, as most of the farmers and the producers are now engaged to rubber cultivation and coffee plantation. Recently the retrofitted Eden Lodge has been opened at Jampui Hill.

However with this a day has come for the people of the state as well as for the people abroad to get aloof from the history of Tripura and its culture and popularity.

According to statistical records, the state had nearly double inbound tourists in 2013-2014 compared to the previous year. 7,817 foreign tourists visited the state in 2012-2013. The figures rose to 15,376 in the last financial year.

The state, however, failed to register significant growth in domestic tourist sector as the figures of domestic tourists visiting Tripura in the last financial year was 3,59,995, barely 1,370 above the previous financial year. Besides, saying that the central govt. has not been making any effort for the improvement of the Tripura tourist places, the negligence role of the authorities and the state govt. has deprived the people of the state and abroad from taking pleasure visiting the tourists spot that has now turned into a bad shape.
