AGARTALA, Nov 10 (TIWN): Attacks on opposition party candidates continue in Tripura centering the Municipal Election. Left Front candidate of Ward No-30 Probodh Das’s house was attacked severely by miscreants and then they set fire at his home. 3 to 4 petrol bombs were thrown at his home and then the main gate was broken to organize further attacks. Hearing the screaming of the family members of the Left Front candidate Local people rushed to the spot and controlled the fire. Former CM, Opposition leader Manik Sarkar visited the attacked CPI-M candidate's home and talked to the family members.
Talking to the media, the Left Front candidate said, “It was around at night 11 pm when BJP workers were putting flags in my home area but I did go out of my room as it’s election time and putting flags is all political parties right. But soon they had thrown petrol bombs at my home and then set fire. I was unable to move. By that time local people came and the miscreants escaped. Two bikes were seen. One was white colour and the other was a pulsar bike".
Police allegedly came after more than one hour of the incident.
