AGARTALA, Oct 30 (TIWN): One more sudden decision has erupted resentment among the passengers who are coming from 9 states. In an order passed yesterday (29th October 2021) signed by Director or FW and PM, Govt of Tripura it was instructed, “As per approval of the competent authority it is hereby informed that from 30.10.2021 onwards negative test report for Covid-19 done by RTPCR / True NAT / CBNAAT of 48 hours prior to journey is required for entry into the state through Airway, Railway, Churaibari from those states of the country from where more than one district having positivity rate of 5% or as on 26. 10. 2021 (Kerala, West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Magaland, Mizoram) irrespective of Covid-19 Vaccination Status. Otherwise the concerned passenger will be tested in the entry point as per the Govt norms. Strict implementation of foregoing instructions shall be ensured”.
However, criticism erupted as if 48 hrs prior test was needed. Why couldn't the Govt not announce it at least 3 days back and instructed Airlines to inform the passengers ??
This decision will put many in trouble due to the sudden-announcement.
