AGARTALA, Oct 27 (TIWN): Petrol, Diesel prices continue to rise. Amid the ongoing uncontrolled diesel price hikes, bus drivers have warned the State Govt to stop services if no solution is brought out. The bus drivers said that when bus fare was hiked, that time the diesel prices were at Rs. 80 and now it has crossed hundred. If such situations continue then bus services can not be operated. The bus drivers unit demanded more fare hikes and Govt may go for a solution like when fuel price will hike, bus fares will be hiked and when fuel price will be downed then fares also will be downed. They gave another option of subsidized fuel price so that the minimum business can be done. Diesel price in Agartala on Wednesday is Rs. 100.77. Resentment gripped the common men. Consumers at the Durga Bari petrol pump demanded restoration of previous fuel prices when people bought petrol at Rs. 60.
On the other hand, vehicle drivers said if the fare is doubled, then also they can’t earn the profit. Moreover, nobody knows where the price hike will stop.
“Nobody is thinking about the common people. By purchasing diesel we run our vehicle and from there our family expenditure comes but now the rate has gone out of our capacity. The Government is not thinking about the poor people”, said another vehicle driver.
