AGARTALA, Oct 26 (TIWN): Trinamool Congress leader Maman Khan remains critical at SSKM hospital in Kolkata as his kidney was diagnosed with critical condition, needed dialysis. Today, Trinamool Congress members staged a protest in front of the Police headquarter in Agartala seeking arrests of the attackers who organized barbaric attacks on TMC MP Sushmita Dev and her team on 22nd October. Many were injured but out of them Maman Khan was taken to Kolkata due to his critical health condition. Talking to media, Dipanwita Chandraborty, a youth TMC leader has said, “The BJP Govt here may not like TMC because of its political rivalry but why can't the CM even stand with the injured persons ? Why couldn't the police arrest a single person. This is inhuman”.

Police officers refused to meet TMC representatives in the police headquarters today which generated further resentment among the TMC members. The agitating TMC activists raised slogans, condemning increasing barbaric attacks on the TMC. Later, however TMC members met the DGP.

Police removed the TMC members by force as they were staging protest for long time blocking the main gate of Police headquarter. 

The attack took place on October 22nd when the TMC members were talking to the market’s shop-keepers.

All of a sudden some miscreants attacked the TMC where I-PAC team members were present.

TMC alleged that the entire incident happened in front of police.

The 6 injured persons are : 1) Surjakanta Sarkar, 2) Maman Khan, 2) Sushanta (I-PAC) 3) Shantanu (I-PAC) 4) Ratul Dey, 5) Amit and 6) Rahul. Two more female activists also received minor injuries in the incident. Also MP Sushmita Dev received an injury in hand.
