AGARTALA, Oct 15 (TIWN): Durga puja’s last day “Vijaya Dashami” has rung the bell for Goddess Durga’s departure. Amid tight security arrangements, marking the formal conclusion of the biggest festival- Durga Puja, the immersion worship (Vijaya Dashami) to Goddess Durga has been started in Tripura on Friday morning. The puja started at Agartala Durga Bari in the morning.
Devotees thronged to ancient Durga Bari, puja pandals for 'Dasmi Yatra'.
They offered sweets to the goddess and prayed for peace and prosperity for their families. There will be a festive look on the bank of the river Howrah at Dashamighat and other water bodies, with spirited chants of "Bolo Durga Mai Ki Jai" adding to the fervour. Children, the young and the elderly would join hands to slowly put the idols into the water as they wished for her return next year.
"Abir Khela", "Sindoor Khela" were also observed on that occasion.
