AGARTALA, Aug 27 (TIWN): In protest against Trinamool Student Unit member Solanki Sengupta's abduction incident, Trinamool Congress leaders, members have gathered at East Agartala Women Police station. The Trinamool members led by MP Santanu Sen and Kunal Ghosh met the OC of East PS Saroj Bhattacharjee, OC Agartala Women PS and then SDPO Ramesh Yadav. The demand of Trinamool Congress was for the arrest of the ABVP members who kidnapped the girl Solanki Sengupta. However, after lots of argument, Police officials in the police station said that without proper investigation nobody can be arrested right now. This statement resented the Trinamool leaders but it was agreed that tomorrow the statement of victim Solanki Sengupta will be recorded in the Magistrate's Court face to face, so that the matter can go in fair legal manner via Court. Victim Solanki Sengupta was also present with the Trinamool members.
After exiting the police station, MP Santanu Sen said, "The state has seen today how our student leader Solanki Sengupta was kidnapped by BJP goons and also she was beaten up with shoes. This is nothing but more tortures were done to her which will be told by her in Court tomorrow. Tomorrow Solanki will tell the Magistrate everything. Unfortunately, when the Trinamool leaders went to the outpost, the on-duty police told them that in Tripura laws will be as per Tripura and not like Kolkata. Then, when SDPO went there ABVP members Jeet had assaulted him too. But now, what we have understood is that he is also undergoing pressure".
Kunal Ghosh said, "The incharge of Women PS is also under heavy pressure. When we asked why the main accused man was not arrested, she said, he is not at home and she does not know where he is. However, tomorrow at 10 O'Clock Solanki will give her statement under 164"
