Udaipur, December 20 (TIWN): Protesting against Udaipur Municipal Council(UMC) businessmen of Lake City Shopping Complex of Udaipur blocked the main road in front of UMC Office for three and half hours leading to acute inconveniences to the people in general. The road blockade started at 12 hrsband ended at around 15.30hrs. It is alleged that all on a sudden Udaipur Municipal Council decided that from 20th December onwards UMC will charge Rs 5/- from each person who will park his/her vehicle inside Lake City Shopping Complex. At present there are more than 200 businessmen inside the Shopping Complex.

As soon as the businessmen heard about this, they went to meet the Chairperson of Udaipur Municipal Council Smt Manika Das. But she failed to give any assurance to them. At once the businessmen blocked the road in front of UMC Office adjacent to Radhakishorepur Police Station. Interestingly no official came to chat with the agitated businessmen. As a result of it hundreds of passengers from either side of the road stranded on the road as it is the heart of the town. 
        Ultimately UNC changed its decision and decided that the businessmen having stalls inside the Shopping Complex can park their vehicles in a selected place inside the market complex. But others will have to pay Rs 5/- per vehicle. And this is only for three hours and after this three hours an additional charge Rs 5/-  will have to be paid for parking any vehicle. After getting this assurance the businessmen withdrew the road blockade.
