AGARTALA, Aug 16 (TIWN): Trinamool Congress has moved to High Court, submitted a plea to quash the FIR which was registered by Khowai Police against 6 TMC leaders. The petition was filed amid Tripura BJP Govt already lost face in Courts many times due to illegal police harassment of journalists, oppositions and commoners. Police had registered a suo-moto complaint on August 10 against 6 Trinamool leaders. Inspector Manoranjan Debbarma had lodged the complaint and on the basis of his complaint the FIR was lodged.TMC would have also appealed for anticipatory bail in this case. The FIR was lodged against All India Trinamool General Secretary, MP Abhishek Banerjee, Bengal Minister Bratya Basu, MP Dola Sen, TMC spokesperson Kunal Ghosh, Tripura Trinamool leader Subal Bhowmik, Tripura Ex-Minister Prakash Chandra Das.

The issue had started since a deadly attack took place on Abhishek Banerjee by BJP flag carrying people on  2nd August during his Matabari visit and when Trinamool activists were protesting against it, they were again attacked in Khowai on 7th August. But police instead of arresting the attackers, had arrested Trinamool youth leaders and allegedly harassed them.

Day after the incident, on 8th August, Trinamool's 6 leaders visited Khowai PS and developed an argument with police about why no action was taken by Police against the BJP. During the 6 leaders' visit in Khowai PS, many attacks were held on the same day by BJP workers and vehicles were vandalized and 2 persons were again seriously injured.

Till now, not a single FIR was lodged against the BJP activists by Khowai Police. Such injustice has become a practice in Tripura.

Not only opposition leaders, but unemployed students are now subjected to police violence, arrests and BJP led attacks whenever they try to organize any protest against this Government.

Yesterday also, Trinamool 2 women MPs were attacked and many were injured, the party office of Trinamool was damaged by BJP on Independence Day and on the same day, police also
