AGARTALA, December 20 (TIWN): A newborn baby has been found lying down near a drain at Ramnagar Road No. 6 under Ramnagar Out Post, here today.

According to the police, the alarm was raised by the local people of the area after they heard cries near the drain.

After getting the information police personnel from Ramnagar Out Post, West Agartala police station Agartala and West Agartala Women police station rushed to the spot.

A police official of West Agartala police station said that we all thought the worst but the baby was still alive. The official further said that the boy had no signs of physical injury but was malnourished and remains in a serious but stable condition in IGM hospital.

Pradip Saha one of the local of the area said that we actually thought it was some kitten or something like that. It was only when we went there and had a real good look at it that we could hear exactly what it was.
