AGARTALA, Aug 8 (TIWN): After getting release order of all the arrested TMC members, the party MP Abhishek Banerjee faced media and said, "the democracy of Tripura is being choked under CM Biplab Deb's dictatorship". Raising questions on the law and order of the state, Banerjee alleged that despite of arresting the attackers, the state police arrested the TMC members who were attacked and injured by BJP hooligans.
"Biplab Deb wants to remain in power by threatening people, suppressing their voices. This is my second visit to the State in less than seven days. Whoever challenging the atrocities and hooliganism of BJP are being sent behind the bars. Instead of the attackers, the Trinamool members who were attacked are booked. The entire country is witnessing how democracy is being choked in Tripura. But this is TMC. If Biplab Deb thinks by pelting stones on TMC members he can stop us, then he and his entire party is living in a fool's heaven. We will come back more strongly after every attack of them." Said Banerjee.
While entering to Khowai PS, Banerjee and the whole Trinamool team had to face 'Go back' slogans from BJP activists who gheraoed the station premises since morning. However, no arrests of them had been made by police as usual.
The lawlessness of Tripura yet again captured the National attention. Whereas everyone from opposition leaders to National figures criticising the "misrule" of Tripura's BJP Govt, CM Biplab Deb remained completely silent on the recently erupted unrest in the State.
