It is to be mentioned here that on 19th June 2012 Gomati District Hospital was inaugurated and since then the controversy surrounding the shifting of  OPDs and equipments have not ended.

And in this regard state govt has decided that Udaipur will be the first Sub Division after Agartala where a generic medicine services will start. And a generic medicine store will be opened in the Gomati District Hospital. But it will not happen over night . It will take time."

But the two medical colleges AGMC and B R Ambedkar too are suffering from it. Hopefully in the next two years time we will be in a position to post specialist doctors in all sub divisional and district hospital."

Reacting to the controversy of the shifting of units and equipments from Tripura Sundari Hospital the Minister said," As far as the services in Gomati District hospital we are quite happy. But a section of people are now busy in creating controversy. I would like to clarify that for long the Tripura Sundari Hospital was a district hospital. Gradually some services were built up there as per the requirement of a district hospital. And the equipments too were installed . But now as the district hospital has been shifted and naturally only those equipments needed for district hospital have been  shifted and there is no question of stopping the services in Tripura Sundari Hospital."
