AGARTALA, June 16 (TIWN): In another brutal attack by ruling party miscreants, 9 members of the People's Relief Volunteers endure serious injuries, 3 of them admitted to IGM hospital.

Based on details, while the organization was distributing food and other essential commodities among the COVID-positive patients who are kept in home isolation in the Kanchanmala’s Kar Chowmuhani area in Sekerkot, 20-25 bikers allegedly produced a brutal attack on the members of the organization with sharp weapons, bamboo sticks and wooden piles for an unknown reason.   

Such barbarian act of the BJP was witnessed before in many areas, including when the ruling party MLA Sushanta Chowdhury was distributing goods during the pandemic among the destitute section of the society but the police remain as the mute spectator, encouraging such cruelties.     

The injured were however taken to the IGM hospital. Mohabrak Mia, Mithun Lal Bhowmik, Dost Mohammad, Joydeb Das, Tapan Das, and Ratan Das are among the organization members who endure severed wounds. An FIR has been registered against the culprits.
