Amid Night curfew, a man was detained with huge quantity of contraband items at Mungiakami

AGARTALA, May 24 (TIWN): Drug smuggling and consumption both have increased under BJP regime, no path to curb these drug smuggling in the state even after tall claims of “Nesha Mukta Tripura''. It has noticed amid night curfew drug dealers are running a rampant business across the state. During night curfew patrolling on Sunday the Police of Mungiakami PS under the leadership of OC Janmajoy Riang, busted a 25 years old man with huge amounts of heroin in Shaal Bagan area, Teliamura.

The arrested man has been identified as Engine Debbarma, 25 years old, residing in the Hadra area of Teliamura, S/o- Dipanjay Jamatia. He was caught in a suspicious manner as he was moving with his bike at Mungiakami Shaal Bagan area amid the night curfew.

On receiving the news, Teliamura SDPO, Sona Charan Jamatia immediately rushed to the spot and arrested the drug peddler from the spot.

The seized amount of heroin estimated around Rs 10,000 and also Rs 9,020 cash was found with him, Police sources said.

However, such drug peddling amid night curfew has generated panic among the common public. These drugs trade are destroying the youth’s life including Tripura’s culture, if such drug smuggling is not curbed immediately, then the future generation of youths will be destroyed soon.
