AGARTALA, May 13 (TIWN): The rate of corona infection positive cases is increasing in the country along with the state and taking advantage of this pandemic situation, some unscrupulous traders in the city continue to increase the prices of daily necessary commodities. On receiving various complaints of black marketing SDM raided various grocery shops at Dharmanagar.
After receiving complaints Dharmanagar sub-divisional administrator, Kamlesh Dhar, Sub-divisional food department and the staff of Dharmanagar Municipal council raided various shops on Thursday in Dharmanagar market and found black marketing is going on with full swing. Also many expired items were confiscated from several shops during the raid.
The sub-divisional administrator instructed each trader to sell the goods at fixed prices and to advertise the daily stock list of the shops.
The sub-divisional administrator informed to the media that the shops from which expired items were found will be listed and penalty will be imposed according to the law. He further said that such operations would be carried out on regular basis and action would be taken against the unscrupulous traders who have planned to fill their pockets by cutting public pockets in the pandemic times.
