AGARTALA, May 7 (TIWN): Group of thieves looted a shop adjacent to Battala outpost in Agartala. It was reported the looted amounts estimated Rs 70,000 to Rs 75,000.
Suman Paul, the owner of the shop at Battala Bazar kept goods in his shop on Thursday and closed his shop before the night curfew started at 6 PM and left for home. But on Friday morning, when the shop owner Suman Paul came to his shop he found that his shop's tin fence was cut and thieves had stolen cooker, grinder, burner etc which estimated costs Rs 70,000- Rs75,000.
When the incident was reported to the Battala outpost, the police went to the spot and have started investigating the incident.
But question is raising that amid Police patrolling, private security guards and how the thieves are getting chances to loot shops amid tight security ?
The shop owner has filed a case at Battala outpost and police took a case on the incident.
The incident has triggered tension among the shopkeepers.
