AGARTALA, April 25 (TIWN): Seeing the seriousness of the COVID-19 outbreak nationally and also in State, Tripura Govt has postponed all examinations including College, University and Schools. The College examinations were scheduled to be held tomorrow in offline mode which had triggered tension, but no clear statement was given about the examinations by Education Minister on yesterday's press meet. However, finally the Education Dept has come to a resolution by postponing all examinations for now. Tomorrow there will be a crucial meeting among the Education Dept to be headed by Education Minister Ratanlal Nath. Now, Pre-Board examinations were also postponed in this step.
This decision was taken amid nationwide numbers of COVID cases' rise and in Tripura protests, demands placed before the Education Dept and the Education Minister for cancellation of offline exams.
However, ahead of this decision was taken, Minister Ratanlal Nath yesterday told media that this pre-board examinations are also important as in future what will happen nobody knows, but he also said, "any decision at any time can be announced due to the national emergency".
Students have thanked the Govt for postponing the examinations.
"Country's condition is not good along with the whole world. Our (Tripura) condition is yet good but the cases should not be increased. We don't want a single student or citizen would suffer..........Jaan hai toh Jahan hai", Nath said yesterday.
On Monday, there will be a crucial meeting and final decision will be taken by the Education Dept.
