AGARTALA, April 24 (TIWN): There is no doubt people in remote areas have been deprived from all facilities. Such a deplorable situation has captured in Champamura Ward No-6 under Kamalasagar constituency. Villagers protested over water scarcity, blocked roads and claimed they would not remove the block until their demand fulfilled.
Reportedly, the people of Champamura area have been suffering from severe water crisis for the last six months. Even after repeatedly informing to local leaders and Panchayat no positive initiative has been taken allegedly, which resulted villagers are facing massive water crisis.
On the other side, talking to Panchayat Pump operator it is known shortage of GI pipe reported in the DWS office. Due to shortage of GI pipes the office is unable to fix the water line at Deshabondhu Colony in Champamura area. Also known over 100 families are living in the area but the families have been fetching water far away.
Villagers said if immediately the water Scarcity problem is not fixed they will go for further protest massively.
However, this kind of scenario is nothing new, people in remote areas have always been deprived from various facilities. The government who remains busy in giving long lists of various promises before election but after winning election leaders to MLAs tied their eyes when it comes to fix problems.
