AGARTALA, March 24 (TIWN): Another inhuman scene came to light in Sabroom Sub-Divisional Hospital. Baby Tripura (36), wife of Haricharan Tripura, a resident of a poor family in Sonaichhari ADC Village under Rupaichhari block, was taken to PHC Rupaichhari Hospital at 5 am today for suffering from severe abdominal pain. Seeing her condition, the doctor-in-charge referred her to Sabroom Sub-Divisional Hospital after giving her initial treatment. While the ambulance brought the patient to Sabroom Sub-Divisional Hospital inside 20 minutes, on-duty doctor, Dr. Tamal Roy, gave her first aid in the car and immediately referred her to Gomati District Hospital for her condition being critical whereas the staff realizing that the patient was dead, reported the incident to Dr. Tamal Roy.

Responding to the staff, he said that he can’t take responsibility for the deceased patient and asked the family members to move out from the hospital premises before media arrives, advised them to take her body to Jolaibari Social Health Centre.

Once they reached there, the doctor at that hospital, shouted at them and sent back her body to Sabroom Sub-Divisional Hospital. Finding no way, the ambulance driver immediately informed Dr. Shambhu Majumder, another working doctor of Sabroom Hospital.

Upon receiving the news of the body being brought back, Dr. Tamal Roy called Dr. Shambhu Majumder, who was then working at the hospital, on his mobile phone and asked him to receive the body. Hearing the incident, working doctor Shambhu Majumder immediately informed the superintendent of Sabroom Sub-Divisional Hospital. The body was then unloaded from the vehicle and dumped on the hospital premises for about an hour.

The general public in the subroom was shocked to see such an incident. They claimed that Dr. Tamal Roy often does such kind of inhuman behavior with the patients and avoids taking responsibility. 

However, the deceased patient’s husband demanded that the cause of his wife's death be properly investigated.
