AGARTALA, March 17 (TIWN): Locals from 47-mile and 48-mile areas under Mungiakami block alleged that there has been an acute drinking water crisis in the area for a long time. Despite informing the Mungiakami block administration repeatedly, no solution was made. So amid the ADC election campaign, locals sat in a barricade of the national highway.
Upon receiving the news, Mungiakami block administration officials including Mungiakami police rushed to the spot. While the officials wanted to reassure the blockaders, the blockaders refused to comply. They asked for a written promise from the administration based on which they would lift the blockade.
However, after the BDO of the area went to the spot and assured the blockaders that their problem would be resolved very soon, they lifted their bar.
