AGARTALA, December 10 (TIWN): Alongwith the rest of the country the International Human Rights Day observed here in Tripura today. With a pledge to work and to achieve legitimate rights of the people of the state and also to strengthen their movement for complete rights to the human being, the Tripura Human Rights Organisation today staged a rally to mark the International Human Rights Day.
As part of their programme the Tripura Human Rights Organisation (THRO) today also staged a sit in demonstration at Agartala Orient Chowmuhni area with a slogan, to restrain the increasing rate of atrocities on women, deprivations, hatred, terrorism, injustice and others in Tripura.
Symposiums and colourful rallies marked the day in Agartala and elsewhere in the state today.
Tripura Human Rights Organization is a non profit,non political secular organization founded in the year 2006.Currently the organization has 500 members .This organization is active in human rights advocacy and protection people against human rights violation by state and other non -state bodies. The organizations aim also to secure social,economical ,political justice and it is very sincere in redistribution of wealth towards egalitarian society.
The UN General Assembly proclaimed 10 December as Human Rights Day in 1950, to bring to the attention ‘of the peoples of the world’ the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as the common standard of achievement for all peoples and all nations. This year’s slogan, Human Rights 365, encompasses the idea that every day is Human Rights Day. It celebrates the fundamental proposition in the Universal Declaration that each one of us, everywhere, at all times is entitled to the full range of human rights, that human rights belong equally to each of us and bind us together as a global community with the same ideals and values.
