UDAIPUR, December 9 (TIWN): The workers at Bhubaneswari Temple ( Old RajBari) of Udaipur yesterday found five old furnaces of King Dominated period during the excavations in the Royal palace. On Monday afternoon laborers were busy in excavations in the Bhubaneswari Temple complex when they found these five furnaces . According to Archaeological experts these furnaces might have been made somewhere around late 17th century. It is to be mentioned here that Maharaja Gobinda Manikya ascended the crown in the year 1663 and during his reign the Bhubaneswari temple was built.
During this time Udaipur was the erstwhile capital of the state and was known as Rangamati. Ranindranath Tagore mentioned the name of Bhubaneswari Temple in his novel Rajarshi. And thus it became famous the world over. In 2013 state govt decided to revive the structure of Bhubaneswari temple as per its original structure. Accordingly Tripura Tourism Development Corporation Ltd took the initiative to return the glory of this old palace to make it more attractive to the tourists. Since yesterday hundreds of people went to see these furnaces as the the news spread every where.
