AGARTALA, Jan 22 (TIWN): Ahead of Republic day, Tripura's terminated teachers are still on road, agitating for their livelihood demands amid one after one teachers are dying mercilessly. 10323 Teacher Ajay Goswami who had died of heart attack was reportedly suffering from extreme depression due to his jobless situation. He was a member of Joint Movement Committee and was participating in JMC's protest at Agartala City Centre. He was a good person and after his death, teachers, family, neighbours broke down in cries and screaming due to the loss. However, amid all these, Tripura Govt has no concern for the teachers though the death toll has spiked up to 83 now. The 10323 teachers are going in massive protest from January 26 if the Govt does not give any proper response to the teachers plea. A final letter has been submitted to Saumya Gupta, the Education Secretary. Today it has been 47 day of the JMC protest.
"This is quite strange to think, in which society we are living where teachers who are called as the backbone of the society are suffering on road but the Govt has no concern. Not a single Govt representative has visited here", said JMC calling a press meet ahead of Ajay Goswami's death news came to them.
Survey shows, public are in support of the JMC protest although the ruling Govt is not amid it had given pre-poll promise to 'change a portion of the constitution' or to introduce a new law to restore the jobs of the terminated teachers. .
On yesterday, the teachers have submitted letter to Education Secretary Saumya Gupta giving a deadline to reply by January 25. From 26th January, the protest will be decentralized and massive, informed JMC.
