AGARTALA, Dec 22 (TIWN): One more person has been taken to other state for better treatment in Khayerpur violence.
CPI-M worker Ratan Das has been taken to Kolkata as his condition deteriorated. At least 20 persons from the CPI-M party were injured, including 3 journalists in Khayerpur today during a Convention which was conducted by the Opposition Party CPI-M's youth wings.
3 journalists were also attacked in the incident and the whole episode took place allegedly under MLA Ratan Chakraborty's instruction.
Two persons have received head-injuries and among them Ratan Das was still in GB hospital but now he is taken to Kolkata. On the day of the incident, another CPI-M member Swadharanjan Deb was also referred to Kolkata. The attack took place at around 11 am and BJP workers allegedly used rod, sharp weapons to attack.
BJP's attack did not end ond day time but in night hours the locals who joined CPI-M's programme in Pabitra Kar's home, their houses were not only attacked but the BJP miscreants looted the women's gold items and set fire on bikes and robbed important items of the houses. Those footages were viral in social media. Police has failed to take proper action against the hooligans yet.
