AGARTALA, Dec 16, 2020 (TIWN): On Day- 10 of the protest, terminated 10323 teachers staged a protest rally starting from Agartala City Centre to Battala, Nagerjala Road.
While interacting with media, they said that if the Govt fails to return their job they will be in storming mode of protests soon.
The termination of 10,323 teachers was turned into a significant political issue before the 2018 Assembly election by CM Biplab Kumar Deb and Education Minister, Ratan Lala Nath who promised the sacked teachers that a permanent solution will be made for the teachers and if necessary, new amendment will be brought to spare their jobs. However, after winning the chair, the ruthless government of Biplab Deb changed their words exploiting the teachers’ trust and sentiments.
On being asked today, Nath said, "The teachers can agitate as long they want since the right to protest is a fundamental right of the people but no job will be given to them without an interview" whereas, before the election, the party didn't refer to such an interview process for those teachers.
