AGARTALA, Nov 7 (TIWN): Tripura Journalists have given an ultimatum of 24 hours to arrest all the criminals who were involved in destroying daily newspaper bundles of "Pratibadi Kalam" when hawker was going to distribute papers. Pratibadi Kalam is a widely circulated Bengali newspapers in Tripura, recently exposed Agriculture Dept's scam of Rs. 150 crore under Minister Pranajit Singha Roy and today's attack also held under the R.K.Pur constituency of the Minister. The senior Journalists, Editors today met high level police officer but they were allegedly not treated in cooperative manner and then after coming out of the Police headquarter the journalists have announced 24 hours as ultimatum to arrest the criminals.
After the mafia-style attack on Pratibadi Kalam in Minister Pranajit Singha Roy's constituency, where the newspaper bundles were destroyed, burnt in broad day light, Pratibadi Kalam Editor Anal Roy Chowdhury said that such attacks on the newspaper is not a new thing for him but there must be strict action right now. "Assembly of Journalists" also has condemned the brutal attack on the daily newspaper.
Syandan Patrika Editor Subal Bhowmik said that when journalists are in constant protest against the increasing attacks on media, the brutal attacks the drastically increasing in the state.

The Editor's group under Assembly of Journalists also warned about a probable newspaper-strike if immediate actions are not being taken against miscreants.
