AGARTALA, Oct 7 (TIWN): CPI-M's Dalit unit rally was stopped with huge police force on Wednesday in Agartala. This rally was organized by the Tafashili-unit, that's the Dalit unit led by former Minister, MLA Ratan Bhowmik and MLA Sudhan Das. Talking to media, MLA Sudhan Das said, "Demanding proper financial helps for poor, we wrote CM Biplab Deb on May 7. In July month, we held protests but no solution came out as no step was taken by the Govt. We are bound to hold this protest. This unprepared Lockdown due to COVID-19, 15 crores of people lost their livelihood. We demanded Rs. 7,500 for the poor and free food at 10 kg for 6 months but nothing was done". On the other side, Ratan Bhowmik has taken a dig at the BJP Govt over privatization of Govt agencies and companies, undemocratic school curriculum. He said, there is no doubt that this Govt is working totally at Anti-People, Anti-Poor directions. Police stopped the rally but later, CPI-M overcame the force and successfully held a massive rally.
