AGARTALA, Sep 18 (TIWN): Tripura Assembly of Journalists in a press release has mentioned that in last 30 months, atleast 17 journalists have been attacked in this BJP-ruled state Tripura. But, in no case any justice has been given in any case as no proper action was against anyone. But, at the same time, there are massive social media bullying of journalists by a section of organized propagators patronized by Chief Minister's office.
The Assembly of Journalists which is a forum to protect journalists has expressed concerns over CM's 11th September's speech in which CM never made any apology, rather intrigues have been escalated heavily against media.
There was no statement, no condemnation from the Govt side, neither any arrest was done in cases of the attacks on journalists. It has raised questions on the Govt's role too, said the forum.
"Various circulars have been give intended to dump the blame on media and to give clean cheat to the negligence of the administration, officials. In the COVID situation also, Govt is trying to suppress media voices", said the forum.
