AGARTALA, July 2 (TIWN): Seven months after BJP government withdrew SPG cover from the Gandhi family, the centre has asked Priyanka Gandhi to vacate her lodhi Estate government accommodation within a month.

According to an order issued by the Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry on July 1, the Congress leader has been asked to vacate her government bungalow in New Delhi by August 1.

On July 2 Tripura Pradesh Congress staged massive protest against such act infront of Congress Bhawan, burnt Modi-Shah's Effigies.

State President Pijush Kanti Biswas Said," Modi thinks that if they can not finish the Gandhi family, BJP's days will be numbered soon. So they are trying to restrain them from  everywhere. From SPG to now govt accommodation, they have tried everything to stop them but they couldn't succeed. Gandhi family is such a family who sacrificed two lifes of their families in maintaining sovereignty of the Country."

He also added,"We all know that how Indira Gandhi, the former prime minister of the country was killed, so was Rajiv Gandhi. They both sacrificed their life for securing the sovereignty and integrity of India. Yet the Modi Govt is snatching all the facilities from that family. It shows that how afraid they are of, from Indian National Congress that amid Covid-19 pandemic when the whole world is fighting against this deadly virus, the country's central government is fighting with Gandhi family."

The Ministry has cancelled the allotment of Priyanka Gandhi's Type-6B bunglow on Lodhi road after the special protection Group (SPG) cover provided to her withdrawn by the Government. On November 8 2019, the Central Government decided to withdraw SPG cover for Congress president Sonia Gandhi, member of parliament Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi and accorded them eith 'zZ plus' security cover of the CRPF. The elite force now provides security only to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
