AGARTALA, May 1 (TIWN): Allegation raised against Forest Dept for vandalizing a Jhumia family’s home on Thursday at Peratia ADC village’s Hatipocha area.
Reportedly, in 2016 the family of Piloj Marak and Anita Marak got a patta under Govt’s land distribution scheme, but Thursday a group locals along with Forest Dept came to the home and told the family that they can not stay there as the place belongs to forest dept.
On that time Chuna Marak, daughter of the couple was present and she informed the officials that her parents are in hospital as her father’s health is not well. She also showed papers to the officials but they broke the home all of a sudden.
Without any notice, how Forest Dept could take such an action, it has triggered questions among the people there. Specially when lockdown is going on, what was the need of such action, it has also generated questions in local people’s mind.
