AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, March 21 (TIWN): Taking a 360 degree turn from Vision Document and pre-election speechs given promises, now BJP led State Govt instead of distributing job continuation or similar letters (which they promised before election), now legal notices are being sent from house to house of the 10323 teachers for protesting amid Section-144 which was imposed for Corona-Virus.

Before election, BJP shed crocodiles tear for the teachers, mounted a vote bank of around 40000 to 50000 people, but the attitude of the BJP Govt now totally unexpected proving the BJP as a JUMLA party. Talking to media, a teacher has broken down in tears saying that they will give their lives sitting in hunger strike, but why the Govt is doing this with them, their enemy is not the Govt but their livelihoods are at risk ? The teachers came to place a deputation to the Education Director but after talking to the Director nothing was confirmed whether any solution will come out within 31st March or not. The teachers expressed shocks over the Home Dept’s brutal steps of imposing lathi-charge which was warned by police after they gathered before Education Dept office today.

10323 teachers have demanded their recruitment in 13,000 non-teaching posts before 31st March, 2020. The 13,000 non-teaching posts were created by the then Left Govt.

On yesterday, addressing media, while staging agitation before Assembly, the 10323 teachers said that Supreme Court can not decide on what a Govt should do or how Govt can recruit employees but the only option remained to the Govt to reactivate those 13,000 non-teaching posts before 31st March.

The 10323 teachers on Friday has hit the Assembly premise demanding a secure livelihood before 31st March, 2020, as BJP before election promised the same to the teachers.

Teachers raised slogan, protested with full zeal under a joint forum of the teachers.

With the Coronavirus outbreak, the authority called the protest as illegal, imposed Section 144 and arrested the teachers.

Thousands of teachers were arrested, many served with legal notices for agitation.
