AGARTALA, Jan 30 (TIWN): Alongwith the whole nation today the state Tripura paid homage to the Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi on his death anniversary. The Pradesh Congress leaders on Thursday have paid a floral tribute to Gandhi on the Gandhi bedi at Agartala Gandhighat.

All religion prayer comprising of Gita, Khuran, and Bible have been organized at the Gandhighat.

Congress leaders engaged themselves hoisting flags at Agartala Congress Bhawan.

The day is also observed as Martyrs` Day. On this day in 1948, Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated at a prayer meeting.
