AGARTALA, Jan 25 (TIWN): Local people of Bandowar, Matabari, Udaipur were promised to get a massive economic boost with a tourist spot launching at the side of Bandowar TIT College. But right now after deforestation, the place has left just as a desert and no work has taken place.
It has erupted massive resentment on the Govt.
The model was promised to build with 51 holy places including Matabari.
Centering this, around 2000 rubber plants were cut in that area. Whether the farmers got their deserved compensation or not it is not sure. What happened to the cut plants it’s also unknown.
In such situations, local people are raising question to the Govt and its Tourism Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, as well as local MLA Biplab Ghosh.
