AGARTALA, November 7 (TIWN): In the sensational multicrore scam of Bishalgarh Rural Development Block, Tripura High Court on Friday had rejected the bail plea of the R.D Assistant Engineer, Mita Malakar. It is to be mentioned here that, being the accused behind the scam, Mrs. Malakar had appealed to the High Court to avoid police investigation for granting her bail plea. But the Court after understanding the depth of the scam, on Friday, bench of Justice S.C. Das had rejected the plea.The scamster of multicrore MGNREGA scam,Bimal Chakraborty was again sent to 14days jail remand. However,another case had been lodged against him under Section 120 (B). On the other hand, search warrant had already been issued against eight accused out of 11. Though, Police was still unable to arrest the accused.It is to be mentioned here that, if the accused are not arrested or surrendered before the court, their property would be seized by the Court. On Wednesday, after the completion of 14 days remand, Bimal was again produced before the Bishalgarh Chief Judicial Magistrate Court. The advocate of Bimal, Saradendu Chakraborty appealed to the Court for Bimal's bail. BDO Bimal again produced before the court on 18th November.

 But rejecting the plea, Court had ordered the scamster to send to another 14days jail remand. 

It is to be mentioned here that after tremendous pressure from all corners and widespread media publication on the RS 17 crore MGNREGA scam BDO Bishalgarh RD Block Subrata Das lodged FIR against the then BDO of the block Bimal Chakraborty in Bishalgarh Police station. Police registered a case in this issue (Case no-135/14) under section 409 of IPC. The special Internal Audit Report of MGNREGA for the FY 2012-13 and FY 2013-14 massive misappropriations of more than Rs 17 crore was found. The special Internal Audit wad audited during05/05/2014 to 30/06/2014.In addition,

Scamster Bimal Chakraborty is the brother of DYFI State Unit Secretary Amal Chakraborty. Apart from this another brother Kamal Chakraborty is now the Commandant of 11 BN TSR. Bimal Chakraborty was appointed as a Panchayat Extension Officer in Mata Bari RD Block way back in 1997 from the very beginning Bimal Chakraborty was under the scanner of his higher officials due to his doubtful attitude. But none could have done anything as Bimal assails from a politically influential family of the ruling party CPI (M).  Role of Chief MInister  raised the question of transparency, moral character of administration.

Without arresting them, they were merely suspended from their post. Finance Minister (FM) Bhanu Lal Saha is belived to be the kingpin behind the scam. The role of Police and Government in this regard is doubtful. The police is conducting fake raids in the name of investigation to cover up thecase. Due to the involvement of big heads of the CPIM party, directly or indirectly involved in the multicrore scam of Bishalgarh R.D. Block the police are unable to perform their duty as per the law.
