AGRTALA, Nov 16 (TIWN): Although propaganda was done by the ruling BJP that former CPI-M Minister Badal Chowdhury is not cooperating with the Police during interrogation, while rejecting the police remand plea of Badal Chowdhury, District & Session Judge Satyajit Dutta Purakayasta clearly stated that there was no attempt of misleading the interrogation according to the C/D provided by police. Saying interrogation can be done in the Judicial Custody also, the Judge said, “I have perused the C/D and there is no indication in the CD that the accused was avoiding the interrogation or misleading the interrogation team when relevant documents were confronted to him and clarification was sought in this regard. So far matter of interrogation by confronting the documents are concerned, same can be done in Judicial Custody alsoâ€.Badal Chowdhury's advocate Purushottom Roy Barman said that in last 4 days of interrogation I/O-Ajay Kumar Das has failed to find out a single reason why Badal Chowdhury should be sent in Police remand again when he sought 6 days police remand for Badal Chowdhury.
On the other side, Badal Chowdhury himself when faced media that in last 4 days, he was under tremendous mental pressure which was planwise done and unlike other accused persons, he was treated in absolutely different manner by police due to BJP Govt's political pressure. According Govt advocates, till 27 November Badal Chowdhury to be in jail custody and if needed I/O can question him there. Moreover on 27th November, via video conference Badal Chowdhury will be connected to the Court and there is no need to bring Badal Chowdhury in Court physically.
It can be mentioned here that in the last hearing also on November 11, a 100% failure of BJP Govt led by Law Minister Ratanlal Nath to put Badal Chowdhury in lockup at the West Agartala Police station was reported as District and Session Judge Court had prohibited any lock-up hold for Badal Chowdhury, giving option to Police to arrange a room where Badal Chowdhury will be keep in comfort with all facilities.

Court had given 4 days Police remand to Badal Chowdhury with various conditions but in last 4 days I/O failed to have a fruitful case diary. Not only this, Court on November 11 also announced about the critical health condition of Badal Chowdhury with specific reasons, quoting from medical reports of the Govt Doctors. Badal Chowdhury is undergoing “hyper-tension”, “hear attacked”, “spine issues”, “regular infection from left basal ganglia”, “lung disease”. Doctors have suggested, “regular medication”, “regular blood pressure checkup”, “regular physiotherapy”, regular checkup, review of medicine in OPD and emergency etc. Beyond all political propagandas, rumours spread by even the Chief Minister of the state, Court’s neutral judgement has been praised.
