AGARTALA, Oct 26 ( TIWN ) : Tripura Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath has announced to shut down 961 schools by merging them with other schools in the name of 'quality education'. This decision was taken when thousands of youths are roaming jobless even after qualifying TET examination.

Among them there are 915 primary schools and rest 46 are secondary school, where 8000 students are studying now. On Thursday afternoon after the cabinet meeting Nath has declared this decision in press conference.

In a situation where thousand of jobless people are roaming here and there, Nath's department decided to shut down the 961 schools across the hills and plains of the state. This decision will be considered as another number of the black- history of Tripura's BJP Govt. This decision will lead students mentality in a negative way for the lack of schools in their own areas. Also it will minimize the chances of fresh recruitment.

Before taking the decision govt didn't realise about the 8000 students who are now studying there. And specially the hilly area schools will be most affected as this schools will remain less populated due to population rate. However, in damage repair Govt has announced transportation cost will be carried by Govt.

Not only the students, even the small business related to schools like shops infront of school, vehicles also will be affected very badly. This is another big failure of BJP Govt that the Education department under it, is not even able to run schools properly despite of having students, qualified teachers who remained unemployed and ended up merging them.

When more than 10000 qualified candidates  are there who can be recruited without compromising the quality of education now, there is no point of closing the schools.
