AGARTALA, Oct 21 (TIWN): Ahead of Badal Choudhury case’s hearing who appealed for anticipatory bail in a case filed from State Govt side on a PWD construction work, a huge crowd was observed in the High Court today.

Eminent Lawyer Bikash Bhattacharjee is leading the legal team of the former PWD Minister Badal Choudhury.

Reportedly huge numbers of lawyers stood for Badal Choudhury against whom BJP led State Govt initiated a totally politically motivated case.

CPI-M has moved to High Court demanding anticipatory bail for former PWD Minister Badal Choudhury, challenging the District Court’s verdict on 16th October which rejected the bail plea of Badal Choudhury.

Today High Court will pronounce the hearing of the bail-petition. On the other side, police have continued searches for the former PWD Minister Badal Choudhury as Home Dept led by Biplab Deb has already suspended top police officials after they failed to trace Badal Choudhury in this politically motivated case against Choudhury.

The hearing to be pronounced before Justice Arindam Lodh on 21st October, said a source in High Court. Case No. AB/137/2019 in BADAL CHOUDHURY VS STATE GOVT is listed on 21-10-2019  in Court No 3, said the source.

On the other side continuous search for Badal Choudhury continues to haunt Tripura police as already various officers under punishment amid video proof of their sleepless nights.

FIR was lodged against Tripura CPI-M former PWD Minister Badal Choudhury at West Agartala Police Station with Case No-251/19. The charge against Badal Choudhury was imposed is that in various constructions including road, bridge, Govt quarters Rs. 600 crores were invested by the then Govt but 10% extra was given to the construction agencies. However, no statement from the construction agencies were received so far, neither question was raised on the quality of the work and the whole project got PAC’s authentication. After the FIR was lodged, Badal Choudhury appealed in Court for anticipatory bail whereas on 16th October his bail plea was rejected and then Choudhury has moved to High Court but the hearing will be on 21st October, 2019.
