Amid massive controversies, protests over TET Question Papers’ Leak, TET Exam held in Tripura, Govt denies probe

AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, Oct 19 (TIWN): As State Education Minister Ratanlal Nath has given a clean-chit to the TRBT saying, question doesn’t arise that Teachers Eligibility Test's (TET) question papers were leaked by any chance, the exam was held today amid presence of huge numbers of job aspirants. 1 lakhs 35 thousand unemployed youths applied for the test and followed by various turmoil on yesterday as opposition held massive protests over TET-question papers leak issue and 2 BJP activists' arrests in that scam the exam was conducted. The matter turned sensative when the phone-call record of the detained BJP activists were claiming for having hot-line connections with the Education Dept, whereas Ratanlal Nath has denied such allegations. The biggest ever TET-Scam which has jolted unemployed youths who were preparing for examinations for TET-I and TET-II was revealed just one day ahead of Paper-II exam.

Public caught two BJP leaders selling TET question papers to the unemployed youths in exchange of hefty amounts and those scamsters were found very close to the top leaders under the mask of Educationists.

Today while talking to TIWN at the Khudiram Bose English Medium School, an examination duty bound teacher said that the sealed question-papers were opened before the students from the sealed trunks and no tension was created so far.

DYFI, SFI held massive protest over the leakage of question paper today afternoon, whereas NSUI demanded cancellation of the test and new questionpapers, but surprisingly Govt denied any re-examination date, which has erupted more queries as the alleged question-paper selling rates went at Rs. 2 lakhs to Rs. 5 lakhs.

CPI-M’s youth wing DYFI State Secretary Nabarun Deb’s statement : “The issue turned disgusting after phone call record of the brokers claimed that the collected amounts to be received directly by Education dept and involvement of the Ministry thus. This type of corruption in the Education Dept was never seen earlier. The Education Dept, TRBT must clarify the matter immediately”. Nabarun Deb further said, “1 lakh 35 thousand unemployed youths when were preparing for TET examinations, on that time already allegations raised about various corruptions and today at Kamalpur when people caught the broker it was known that the rates of the question papers went over Rs. 2 lakhs to Rs. 5 lakhs and the allegations have raised against Education Minister as phone call record of the broker says that the moneys will go directly to the Education dept”.

“Earlier also the CM, Education Minister involved in insulting unemployed youths and the accused persons who were booked in this question-paper scam are both BJP activists”, said Nabarun Deb.

“From huge numbers of youths they have collected moneys and their phone-calls directly involving Ministers, Officers in the scam. It’s visible that it’s a massive scam” he said.

Congress’s students wing led massive protest :  NSUI gheraoed Education dept today demanding cancellation of TET examination question sets.After Director of Education denied any such report and sent police, NSUI activists hit the Govt employees calling them as BJP’s broker. NSUI for hours staged massive protest before the Education dept, alleged in the police stations, accused have kept under full care. The Congress’s students wing sought Education Minister Ratanlal Nath’s resignation over the scam.

Congress also to hoist a massive protest tomorrow in Agartala, called public to join the protest.NSUI Tripura top leader Rakesh Das slammed the Education Minister as this is not the first time but similar allegations in other exams raised before under the present BJP Govt.Rakesh Das said both the arrested scamsters belong to BJP and RSS.NSUI also thanked the people of Kamalpur for catching the traders of TET question papers red-handed. Also NSUI asked the Govt to reschedule the examination.

The issue was raised after BJP activists 1)Rajesh Sutradhar and 2) Sanjay Sinha were caught in Question Paper scam one day ahead of TET examination at the Kamalpur
