AGARTALA, Oct 19 (TIWN): CPI-M has moved to High Court demanding anticipatory bail for former PWD Minister Badal Choudhury, challenging the District Court’s verdict on 16th October which rejected the bail plea of Badal Choudhury.
The hearing to be pronounced before Justice Arindam Lodh on 21st October, said a source in High Court. Case No. AB/137/2019 in BADAL CHOUDHURY VS STATE GOVT is listed on 21-10-2019 in Court No 3, said the source.
On the other side continuous search for Badal Choudhury continues to haunt Tripura police as already various officers under punishment amid video proof of their sleepless nights.
FIR was lodged against Tripura CPI-M former PWD Minister Badal Choudhury at West Agartala Police Station with Case No-251/19. The charge against Badal Choudhury was imposed is that in various constructions including road, bridge, Govt quarters Rs. 600 crores were invested by the then Govt but 10% extra was given to the construction agencies. However, no statement from the construction agencies were received so far, neither question was raised on the quality of the work and the whole project got PAC’s authentication. After the FIR was lodged, Badal Choudhury appealed in Court for anticipatory bail whereas on 16th October his bail plea was rejected and then Choudhury has moved to High Court but the hearing will be on 21st October, 2019.
